And some more....

You can't tell in the pictures but all papers used for the bottom of the "ornaments" are shiny/metallic.

More Ornament Gift Boxes

Here's some more gift boxes!

Christmas Ornament Gift Box

This is an ornamentgift box I made with Sweet Tooth Boxes. The tag is from Art Philosophy.

I cut all the big pieces of the of box (ConeLy1, ConeLy2 and ConeLy3) at 9.5 inches and assemble according to the directions. For the insert (ConeLy3) I used my Gypsy to "hide" the circle so that it wouldn't have a big hole in it. I was giving airplane ornaments as gifts and I wanted them to sit on top of the insert rather than in the hole. If I were giving a round ornament I probably would have left the hole.

For the gold top of the ornament I cut 2 pieces of at 2.5 inches. I used my Gypsy to hide the circle/hole on one of the pieces and inserted a rectangle that was .60 inches. I hot glued a gold ring in the top piece with the rectangular hole. Be careful! The hot glue makes the metal ring get hot too. I then hot glued the 2 pieces together with the one on the bottom upside down. I tired to center the tabs of the top piece over the spaces between the tabs of the bottom. It was hard because they were so small and they shifted a lot. I then hot glued the whole thing to the top of my "ornament." I made sure to pull all the glue "threads" off before giving it away.

The gold rings I used were left over from my wedding 17 years ago. Yes, you read that right... SEVENTEEN years! I can't believe I have craft supplies that old. But, I'm not a hoarder. I am a collector! LOL! I always knew I'd find another use for them. You can still find the rings at craft stores in the wedding favor aisles. They also come in silver.

I made several of these gift boxes for teacher & church gifts. We always give an airplane ornament at Christmas. We live on a small airport so whenever people look at their airplane ornaments every year they'll remember our family!

Wow!

It's been almost a year since I've posted anything on this blog! I hope my one faithful follower will forgive me;) Good thing she's my sister. I really had good intentions but I can't seem to commit the time to keep up with this on a regular basis. Maybe I can commit to posting bi-annually, lol!

How do other bloggers keep up with their blogs. I see some pretty fancy ones out there with prizes and contests and everything. Maybe I should ask one of them to blog for me!

Oh well, I'll post some pictures here soon. Maybe even tonight. I want to enter something in the Cricut Circle challenge and I need to post the pictures here so I can link them to their blog to enter the challenge.

Check back soon my lovely sister!

Some Bathroom Decor

I can't remember where I found this quote. It was either somewhere on the internet or in one of my many scrapbooking quote books.

I like what it says because so many couples forget about what they promised to each other on their wedding day and they forget what that promise means to their children. It's a nice reminder sometimes. And, where I hung it, it gives you something to ponder while using the potty! I have some other quotes in mind, about marriage, that I'd like to scrap and frame. I don't know if they'll go in the bathroom or not though.

I printed on the vellum using my computer and tore it to the right size. It was a little to light so I lightly inked the back of it with some brown ink. That seemed to tone it down a little. I cut the flourish using the "Cindy Loo" cartridge. It was actually a square but I cut it in half diagonally, being careful not to cut too many flourishes off.

Christmas Planner

I made a couple of these planners this year (and a couple last year). I gave this one as a wedding gift to a young couple in our church. They were very appreciative of it. And, I'm appreciative of the pictures that they sent because I forgot to take some!

I made all the words on the Gypsy using the "Songbird" cartridge and welded them together. I made the dividers from the "From my Kitchen" cartridge using the "fit to page"mode. It still ends up a little narrow and that's why I added the printed paper to the left side (and it looks pretty).

All the forms I made on my computer.

The planners that I made last year are pretty but the ones this year were even prettier because of my Gypsy. I got it for Christmas last year. I was able to weld and squish (for lack of a better word) the words, to make them no wider than 4 inches, to fit on the tabs. Before all I could use was a sharpie and my own -not as elegant- handwriting!

I had been gathering ideas for these planners for years and finally buckled down and started making them last year. Each one gets tweaked a little bit. I'll eventually get them to where I think they are perfect! I got different ideas for the forms from various places on the internet. I liked a lot of ones that I saw but I wanted something a little different so I worked on my own. I spent many, many hours just on those! I probably should have just used the free ones that were out there. I would have saved a bunch of time!

The envelope in the back is for receipts.

M&M Bags

Thanks Candace (scrapadoodledee.blogspot.com) for the poem and the permission to scraplift!

I made 107 of these for church. We handed them out one night after a little play that the kids performed. I still get compliments on them! I'm sure to let everyone know where the idea came from though!

Some Christmas stuff (now that it's January)!

Here's some stuff I made over the Christmas season.
